University Scholarly Work Awards 2021 2021-09-30

Honoring researchers and artists at the 2021 University Scholarly Work Awards

Whether in research or creative work, creating scholarly work is never easy, and COVID-19 restrictions have disrupted the way these operations are conducted. However, these unprecedented obstacles did not deter researchers and artists from Ateneo de Manila University from looking for new ways to create and develop new ideas and artistic expressions.
On 11 June, the University celebrated their accomplishments in a virtual
ceremony.

“The 2021 University Scholarly Work Awards is a celebration of these achievements, and a celebration to scholarship and creativity. More than this, however, it is also a celebration of our community’s abiding concern for our people, our country, and our world,” said
University President Fr Roberto C Yap SJ.

Global health did not stop Atenean researchers and artists—faculty members, students, and research staff—from harnessing their vision, determination, and talents to produce outstanding research and creative work. Despite the constraints, the year’s output has made the highest number of peer-reviewed publications from faculty members and students. Two students from the Ateneo Senior High School got their science research published in a Scopus-indexed journal.

Six Outstanding Scholarly Work awards, special recognition to works of such quality that contributes significantly to the discipline and Two Scholarly Work Awards with Most Social Impact were presented during the awarding ceremonies.
